Lotus Resources Limited is an Australian company dedicated to the development of uranium projects in Africa, aiming to become a leading supplier of uranium to support global clean energy initiatives.

Company Overview

otus Resources Limited holds an 85% interest in the Kayelekera Uranium Project in Malawi and a 100% interest in the Letlhakane Uranium Project in Botswana. The company is focused on restarting operations at Kayelekera, a past-producing uranium mine, to capitalise on the growing demand for nuclear energy as a clean power source.

In October 2024, Lotus launched a non-underwritten two-tranche placement to raise A$110 million to fund the accelerated restart of the Kayelekera Uranium Project. Additionally, in September 2024, the company secured its first two uranium off-take arrangements totalling 1.5 million pounds for delivery between 2026 and 2029, along with a US$15 million unsecured loan facility to support project development.

Michael Bowen

Mr Bowen is a partner of the national law firm Thomson Geer. He practices primarily corporate, commercial and securities law with over 40 years of experience and emphasis on mergers, acquisitions, capital raisings and resources.

Mr Bowen holds a Bachelor of Laws, Jurisprudence and Commerce from the University of Western Australia. He has been admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia since 1979 and is also admitted as a solicitor of the High Court of Australia. He is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the Australian Society of Accountants.

Mr Bowen is regularly engaged to advise on a broad range of domestic and cross-border transactions including mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, re-constructions, risk management, due diligence and general commercial and corporate law. His clients operate in a range of sectors, including property, resources, technology, contracting and construction.

Mr Bowen has been a non-executive director of several ASX-listed companies and is currently non-executive director of Genesis Minerals Limited (ASX:GMD) and Emerald Resources Ltd (ASX:EMR).

Mr Davey is an entrepreneur with 30 years of senior management and operational experience in the development, construction and operation of global Mining & Energy projects.

In addition to being Executive Director of Lotus, Mr Davey is Executive Director of Frontier Energy Limited (ASX: FHE) and Executive Chairman of Earths Energy Limited (ASX:EE1). He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Greg Bittar

Managing Director

Mr Bittar is an accomplished capital markets/finance and resource industry executive with 25 years of experience.  Mr Bittar brings extensive experience from positions held across investment banking, metals and mining and energy companies in relation to funding, exploration, M&A, project evaluation and project development studies.

Mr Bittar is currently a Non-Executive Director of Horizon Oil (ASX: HZN) and holds an Economics (BEc) degree and Law (LLB) degree from the University of Sydney and a Masters in Finance from London Business School.

Ms Marshall has 40 years’ experience in strategic communications and government relations; this includes crisis communications, editorial media, advocacy, reputation, stakeholder engagement, marketing and policy development.

Ms Marshall has held senior leadership roles in government, media, sport and advertising.

Ms Marshall is the chair of leading government relations company, GRA Partners, a board director and chief growth officer of the Marketforce Group, a commissioner of the Australian Sports Commission, deputy chair of the WA Football Commission and a Non-Executive Director of Frontier Energy Limited (ASX:FHE).

Mark Hanlon

Mr Hanlon has over 20 years of experience in the resources and resource services sector, as well as 10 years in commercial and merchant banking. Mr Hanlon has a broad background of senior executive experience across a wide range of industries including mining and mining services. Mr Hanlon chairs the Audit, Risk and Remuneration Committees at Lotus.

Mr Hanlon is currently a non-executive director of Red River Resources Ltd (ASX: RVR) and has recently been a non-executive director of Waroona Energy Inc (TSX: WHE) and Copper Strike Ltd (ASX: CSE). Mr Hanlon holds a B.Bus. (Finance & Accounting) and a M.Bus. (Banking & Finance) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Leanne Heywood

Ms Heywood has + 25 years' experience in the mining sector, most recently in a senior international marketing role with Rio Tinto and is a highly experienced public company non-executive director.

Ms Heywood is a non-executive director, audit and risk committee, and people and remuneration committee chair, with broad general management experience gained through an international career in the mining sector, including 10 years with the Rio Tinto Copper Group. Her experience includes strategic marketing, business finance and compliance and she has led organisational restructures, mergers, acquisitions and disposals at both the executive and board level. Additionally, she has experience in complex cross-cultural negotiations and stakeholder relationships management, including governments and investment partners and leadership expertise in China, Japan, Mongolia, Singapore and South America.

Ms Heywood currently serves as a non-executive director and the audit and risk committee chair for Arcadium Lithium PLC and Midway Ltd. (both subject to Schemes of Arrangement). She is also a Non-Executive Director of MAC Copper Limited and a director of Snowy Hydro Limited . Ms Heywood received a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2021 and was named 2019 NSW Business Woman of the Year.

She holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), an Executive MBA (Melbourne Business School) and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and CPA Australia (FCPA).

Simon Hay

Mr. Hay has built up extensive management and technical experience in the resources sector over 30 years and is also a highly experienced public company director. Mr. Hay is a minerals professional with management and technical experience built up over a career spanning 30 years in Australia and internationally.

He is currently Executive Chairman of Leo Lithium Ltd. Mr. Hay was formerly non-executive Chair of Battery Future Acquisition Corp. From July 2019 to November 2021, he was CEO of Galaxy Resources. Under his leadership, Galaxy's hard rock spodumene mine in Western Australia achieved consistent and record production rates, the company's Sal de Vida project, a tier one lithium brine deposit in Argentina, progressed from feasibility through a piloting phase and to FID and the company also advanced its James Bay hard-rock lithium project in Quebec, Canada to the engineering phase.

Prior to this, as Head of Resource Development for Iluka Resources Limited, Mr. Hay was responsible for exploration and geology, mine planning and development, major projects and engineering, technology and innovation functions for Iluka's portfolio of projects. This included building two mineral sands concentrators in Sierra Leone, West Africa, managing a capital budget of AUD 300 million per annum and a workforce of approximately 200 people.
