Established in 2013 following a demerger from Amcor, Orora Limited has grown to become a leading provider of packaging solutions globally. Headquartered in Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia, the company operates through two main divisions: Global Beverage and Orora Packaging Solutions (OPS). The Global Beverage division focuses on manufacturing glass bottles, aluminum cans, and closures, catering primarily to the beverage industry. OPS is a vertically integrated provider of sustainable manufacturing, distribution, and visual solutions across North America, specialising in custom packaging design, automation, supply chain optimisation, and visual merchandising.
In recent years, Orora has strategically streamlined its operations to focus on premium beverage packaging. In September 2024, the company announced the sale of its North American packaging solutions business to Veritiv for $1.68 billion, signaling a shift away from paper and cardboard packaging towards premium beverage packaging. The proceeds from this sale are being utilised to expand its cans division in Rocklea, Queensland, reduce debt, and return value to shareholders.
