Universal Biosecurity is a Western Australian based company focused on reducing the current use of highly toxic, expensive fumigation methods nationally and globally.
The global food industry relies on fumigation to control insect and other pest infestation which cause significant economic loss to food products. UBL’s patented Fume8 technology precisely heats and injects nitrogen gas into a stream of liquid ethyl formate through the electronically controlled mixing chamber. Inert nitrogen gas acts as a carrying gas to overcome the flammability of ethyl formate. Fume8’s nitrogen and ethyl formate fumigant mix produces a safe, cost effective, fast acting and environmentally friendly gas fumigant.
UBL has worked closely with some of the country’s leading fumigation and logistics companies in partnership with Murdoch University to successfully complete large scale commercial fumigation on containers destined for Chevron’s Barrow Island based Gorgon project.
Increasing pest resistance, ethical awareness and regulation is forcing industry change away from traditional fumigation chemicals.
Onsite nitrogen generator or bottles combine with liquid ethyl formate.
